Door Entry System Solutions for Nationwide Housing Association Servicing Firm

About TP Security Solutions

TP Security Solutions (TP) have been a loyal customer to Access Security Products (ASP) since 2018.  They have over 25 years of experience servicing and installing door entry systems for a large number of Housing Associations across the UK. They pride themselves on good quality service with high quality products at affordable rates, which led them to make the switch from their usual brands to Farfisa Intercoms 3 years ago, and they’ve never looked back.

Stirling Court’s Needs

TP Security Solutions attended a site of one of their Housing Association clients based in London, England, to investigate a door entry system that was failing. The system was very old and after further investigation had found numerous faults. As the system was found to be obsolete, TP turned to Access Security Products with their requirements for the most suitable solution.

TP required a video door entry system, to call 39 apartments, the panel and monitors needed to be aesthetically pleasing for the clientele and include good quality features such as DDA, but the most vital requirement of the system was for TP to re-use existing cabling, as the building had cables that terminated in various places around the building and to re-cable the whole system would be labour intensive and costly to the client.

Our Solution

As the official distributors of Farfisa, the team at Access Security Products put forward the Hero panel, which would tick all the requirements of their brief:

  • Multi-way video intercom, with keypad and cut out for a PAC panel reader
  • Elegant design and easy to use with the digital scroll buttons
  • Digital display with instructions or a welcome message
  • Good quality panel, made of thick stainless steel making it vandal resistant
  • DDA features such as audio announcement, braille and high visibility bezel, wide angle camera for visitors of differing heights and inductive loop to assist hearing aid users

The Zhero monitors were also favoured, for its large video screen, raised simple to use buttons, and a slim stylish profile.

One of the main features that sold Hero to TP, was that the system ran on DUO bus technology which allows all audio and video systems to run on just two cores, reducing the costs and more importantly for TP it eliminated the need to re-cable.  The Duo solution with Hero was most definitely cost effective for TP and their client.

The Install

At the point of installation, TP received the kit fully tested and fully programmed, which helped them tremendously as they found the job really easy to install, and the time on site was reduced by 50%.  Using Duo, they were also able to utilise spare wires within the cabling to bridge gaps from missing cables, rather than replacing with new cable. With the power of Bluetooth and Farfisa’s DUO app, they could check the status of the system, and make programme changes without the need to enter apartments. ASP also supplied backing plates for the monitors and panels, to make good of any cosmetic damage to the walls in replacing the system.

A Collaborative Approach

Throughout the process, ASP were on hand to guide TP from quotation to post-sales support. Working together to ensure their end client gets what they need, and that TP received a system that met all their requirements and would be reliable.

The Result

The look, and ease of use, of both the panel and monitors have been well received by the tenants of the blocks and the Housing Association themselves. The Housing Association have the opportunity in the future to do video call forwarding to smart devices with the addition of gateways and licences, as well as using smart access entry via smart phones to gain access to the building if they do not want to use fob or pin code entry.

The owner of TP Security Solutions is proud to say “Farfisa is now our go to system, for both video  and audio systems, it is easy to fit, good quality and the wiring options are very versatile”.
